Easter ...

Got up at 6AM to my boys begging me to go downstairs to see if the Bunny came.Tanner saying what a great mom I am(charming huh?LOL) The bunny was up until midnight making an egg casserole, hiding eggs, getting the sport Easter baskets together and watching the beginning of "30 days of night" (NOT AN EASTER MOVIE FOR SURE) the bunny is tired and wants to sleep but also has two big breakfast casseroles to finish making for 8 am brunch/service.. The kids found 18 plastic eggs and 7 real eggs(here in Oregon i gave up on hiding the eggs outside unless it's not raining)after the egg hunt they were fully absorbed in the Nintendo DS games they had gotten from the Bunny. ( the bunny splurges now i guess, i only remember candy and a stuffed bunny and i was jazzed with that.

  1. CHURCH EXCITEMENT!!!!!

Church was great i love the holidays because you get to see so many people at service. we had a huge brunch of ham, fruit, casseroles, pound cake and pancakes. While Jake was biting into a bagel his front tooth came out... It was ready to come out Thursday during Maudy Thur. service and i told him Sat. to wait one more day because the Easter bunny may run into the tooth fairy that night and all heck will break loose. i do not want to wake up to fairy dust and bunny fur because the two got into a tiff on territory. he thought that was funny.. now i have a toothless boy:) after service and brunch the kids yet again had another hunt for eggs. and even though the bunny did everything in her power not to get them candy money is good, it didn't do much good. they have plenty of candy to last a year and just think i threw the rest of the Halloween and Taiwan candy they got from dad just the other day.
the rest of the day is for rest and maybe a quick run....but i am doubting that because i am so tired and have early 5am class Monday..Happy Easter Everyone!!!!

The good behavior wore off throughout the AM and they were back to there irritable selves when they don't get there 10-11 hours of sleep(yes that's right these kids sleep, and it doesn't matter if they go to bed at there bedtime of 8-9pm or if they get a PASS night and stay up late, they are always awake by 6-7am no matter what.). Tanner complained only to me of course about helping in the kitchen they just wanted to get home and play there new games... and then they wonder why i haven't bought them Wii yet. and they wonder why i wont get cable..They would never leave. Believe me i understand the excitment of getting a gift and then not getting to play it beause you have to be somewhere, maybe the bunny should have waited until after church to leave goodies.. just a thought for next year.

Sat. Jake had his regular baseball practice and then the coach told us we can come to the batting cage from 1pm-1:30pm. It was Jake's first batting cage and he loved it. The kid is fully submerged in baseball now, and although it is my least Favorite sport, i absolutely love watching him, he's really into it and loves to play. he did pretty well at the cages and was on a roll the second time up hitting one after the other. he hits toward third allot. He always wants to wear his mariners jacket now and it's baseball this baseball that.
Since Tanner, like me doesn't like baseball he is doing Track for the first time, he's serious about his training schedule that they gave out for spring break and wants to build up his speed on longer distances. He says he just wants to run. The practices run from 3pm-5pm which means i don't see him until dinner. Mon-wed he eats on the run and off to Tae Kwon Do at 5:30. band on Thur/Fri before track. He wants to do this, he says he likes being busy on the weekdays but loves to kick back on the weekends.. I figure it's okay as long as the grades stay up and your homework gets done which he rarely has anyway.

COLORING EGGS/SCHOOL PARTY

Now that Tanner Is older they do not do Easter partys at his school. I am happy i still get to enjoy Jakie. For how much longer who knows?
Jake still wanted to see the easter bunny and have his picture taken(so we did), I am hoping at least 2 more years of that. The sad truth to second child is they tend to grow up alot quicker than your 1st born in every way. I try to milk it for as long as I can.

Tanner managed to fit the time to color eggs with us and I let him be on charge of it, including the clean up LOL. He helped at Jakes party on Friday, he was a hit with the kids. I think deep down Tanner wishes he was still young enough to not know the truth about the Easter Bunny.
Here's a few random shots of the party and coloring eggs...

Catching Up From Last Month

One last snow
This kids on the honor roll!!!!

Jumping from Valentines Day to Presidents Day. One more Feb. Snow and a week-long "PRETEND SPRING". Life for us Boyles keeps plugging along. Feb. is always a strange month. It's about that time of the year I start saying okay the rain can stop now. I need the sunshine and warmth. Well lets get a little catching up on our lives here.

Tanner Tested for his blue belt and unfortunately with our camera being on it's last leg I didn't even bother to bring it for his test. It can barley take stills let alone action shots as you can see with those basketball photos. I am so proud of Tanner he's gotten quite good at sparring and I think we may put him in his 1st tournament next month. Typically in tournaments you can start as early as a white belt/black stripe, personally for some I think it's great experience, however I have two reasons for not doing them until now. 1, I wanted Tanner to learn the discipline not the competitive side early on and 2, I hate watching him Spar. It is so hard to watch him Spar ever. I get the sickest feeling in my stomach. I become a wreck.(he'll always be my baby) He is so good I shouldn't worry but he's my 1st born and he's a spitting image of me, so I know how sensitive he can be but he just doesn't want anyone to know it.

We just had our conferences last week before spring break. Tanner is still a 4.0 Yeah Tanner good job kid. Love you! Jake is just on the verge of reading and like his brother is excelling in math. His teacher Jani is so wonderful I keep telling her i want her to home school Jake forever. Jake is still my little Energiser Bunny. His new thing is to watch the painting show on OPB, then the cooking show then golf on channel 32. usually our window of home time is 12pm-3pm and those are the shows that are on(beside Springer, soap operas, and peoples court) just a FYI,we don't have cable we just don't want it. I feel the kids watch, play games enough as it is why tempt them more, grant it I'd love my court TV and ESPN and TLC. When he's watching these shows he actually writes things down on paper. It's neat to see because it's so unique of him and shows such great imagination. Even though he's non-stop when were out when were home he can be as quiet as can be and self reliant. He's such an awesome kid.

On a trip to Safari Sam's to see our good friends from Nevada (Hi Sherri) he thought it would be cute to come home with some mustaches he got as a prize and go around the house saying "My name is Earl" This picture just cracks me up....

With Spring Break finally here I asked both the boys to make a list of what they want to do for the week and we will get as many things done as possible. The list is as follows..
Go to Seaside, Go snow tubing/skiing, see a movie, hike, go rollerskating, Safari Sam's, Chuckie cheeses, Laser Tag, Go carts, Drive to Eugene and see his old friend Damon... It's a pretty big list i said. So lets make this list a to do list by summer. So far we got Safari Sam's out of the way.. Thanks Sherri. I almost believe she is the only one who reads this blog because everyone else has giving up on me keeping it updated..
